PROJECT OVERVIEW

Riverside City College’s Pathways to Cyber Success project connects students with technical learning, career exploration, and employer engagement to prepare them for further education and careers in cybersecurity. Through collaboration with regional schools and industry partners, the project expands access to experiences that help students understand the field and develop practical skills.

The college’s Cybersecurity Operations Center provides a setting for hands-on projects, campus tours, and student engagement. Summer camps introduce younger students to cybersecurity concepts, while the Cybersecurity Club and Women in Cybersecurity activities provide opportunities for continued learning, collaboration, and professional connections.

Career preparation complements technical instruction through employer conversations, pre-apprenticeship activities, and paid project experiences. Students build networking skills, explore employment opportunities, and apply their knowledge to practical challenges with support from faculty and industry partners.

By combining technical training, career guidance, and employer connections, the project helps students navigate pathways into cybersecurity education and employment while strengthening the region’s future technology workforce.

Recovery with Equity Strategies: Cultivate inclusive, engaging and equity-oriented learning environments; Retain students through inclusive support.

“Seeing people at the top and making sure that things stay secure really inspires me.”
