PROJECT OVERVIEW
Snowline Joint Unified School District’s Streamline Equitable Pathways: Serrano High School & Victor Valley College Healthcare Pathway project connected high school coursework, college preparation, and hands-on learning to help students pursue healthcare careers. In partnership with Victor Valley College, regional healthcare providers, workforce organizations, and higher education institutions, the project strengthened pathways from high school into further education and employment.
The project combined aligned coursework, early college credit, simulated healthcare experiences, and work-based learning. A Simulated Work-Based Learning Forensic and Biology Lab at Snowline High School was designed to complement existing school and college facilities, giving students opportunities to apply classroom knowledge and develop technical skills in realistic settings.
College and career advising, student-led mental health and wellness programming, and expanded employer connections supported students as they explored their options and progressed through the pathway. Professional development for faculty further strengthened instruction and student support.
By bringing these resources together, Snowline and its partners created more accessible routes into healthcare education and careers while helping prepare students to meet regional workforce needs.Recovery with Equity Strategies: Cultivate inclusive, engaging and equity-oriented learning environments; Retain students through inclusive support; Provide high-tech, high-touch advising; Support college preparation and early credit.
“In my opinion, without this grant, Serrano Medical would not have connected with VVC as we did. We now have connections at VVC to continue the partnership and good work.” - Jennifer Conner, Snowline JUSD
