PROJECT OVERVIEW
Coyote PRIME, led by California State University, San Bernardino (CSUSB), helps high school students strengthen their academic skills and prepare for college and career success. Working with regional school districts and community partners, the project combines mathematics and English support with coaching, career exploration, and opportunities to experience university life.
Students receive targeted instruction and personalized learning through EdReady, an online tool that identifies areas for growth and supports skill development. Student Success Coaches, college readiness workshops, and mentorship help participants set goals, understand college expectations, and navigate their next steps. Family engagement strengthens this support by keeping parents and guardians connected to students’ educational journeys.
Academic-year workshops and summer programming provide opportunities to build skills, connect with college students, and explore future careers. Through collaboration with Coyote BLUE, summer participants can also earn college credit while receiving academic support and participating in a residential campus experience.
By connecting academic preparation with guidance and firsthand college experiences, Coyote PRIME helps students build the confidence, knowledge, and skills to transition into higher education.
Recovery with Equity Strategies: Cultivate inclusive, engaging and equity-oriented learning environments; Retain students through inclusive support; Provide high-tech, high touch advising; Support college preparation and early credit
“We want students to enter college knowing they belong and feeling prepared for what comes next. Coyote PRIME brings academic support, personal guidance, and college experiences together to help them build that confidence.”
